Akron Summit Community Action, Inc. Agency is governed by an 18 member board of trustees drawn from different sectors of the population throughout Summit County.
The Board is comprised of three equal groups including:
- Representatives from the public sector
- Representatives of the low-income community
- Representatives from the private sector
The Community Action movement is founded on this tri-partite board concept and governing body. It's this unique board composition which empowers separate communities affected by ASCA’s programs to directly participate in the planning and implementation of community services. ASCA benefits also from the different knowledge and viewpoints represented on the Board.
