Program: Head Start
Reports to: Child Development Center (CDC) Supervisor
Job Summary: In accordance with established program standards, state and federal regulations, as applicable, work with preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) assigned to sites countywide and provide a safe, healthy and compliant environment for care and development. Overall responsibilities include: assist classroom teacher in all aspects of care and developmental practices that include prepare and implement curriculum and age-appropriate developmental experiences; supervise children in the classroom and during other developmentally appropriate activities; conduct age-appropriate developmental screenings; participate parent-teacher conferences and home visits, as applicable; promote parent involvement in the classroom and/or center; assist with parent meetings; track and report parent volunteer/in-kind hours; participate in completing inventory of classroom equipment and supplies; maintain current record-keeping compliant with program procedures; attend staff meetings, training and workshops; perform other related duties as required
Requirements: Must have High School Diploma or GED with six (6) months experience in age-appropriate teaching field and age-appropriate, center-based Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or demonstration of current pursuit of CDA or equivalent combinations of experience and/or education; valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and transportation (travel required for training and getting to/from assigned work site); computer literacy; criminal background checks conducted
Pay Rate: $10.68 p/hr, Pay Level 5
Classification: Regular, Full-time

Job Summary: In accordance with established program standards, provide assistance to center/program staff to ensure a safe, healthy and compliant environment for infants/toddlers and families enrolled in the Early Head Start/Head Start program (children ages 6 weeks up to age 5). Overall responsibilities include: assist with general classroom needs (e.g. remove trash from classroom or eating areas; collect, clean and return laundry to classroom); assist teaching staff in the classroom, on field trips and/or while children are being transported, as applicable; assist with communicating information to and from parents; assist with planning and implementing of parent meetings and promotion of parent involvement in activities; assist social and health services staff to collect information and data entry into computer system; assist kitchen staff as directed; perform office duties (e.g. answer phones, collect, deliver messages); perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements: Must have High School Diploma or GED with demonstrated experience in working with children 6 weeks up to age 3 and six months classroom experience with a current Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, preferred or demonstration of active pursuit of CDA and/or equivalent combination of experience and/or education; valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and transportation, as position requires minimal travel; Summit County residency; fingerprint and background check conducted

Position: NUTRITION CONSULTANT

Job Summary: Under general direction, coordinate, implement, and monitor nutrition services component of the Head Start/Early Head Start Program for children 6 weeks to age 5. Responsibilities include: Develop age-appropriate menus and nutrition plans; coordinate and ensure food orders and deliveries from food service vendors; distribute and collect center food orders; track kitchen equipment and other inventory; prepares purchase orders for food vendors billing; prepare documentation for USDA claims and reimbursement; complete annual USDA application and budget; monitor and evaluate nutrition program delivery for grantee and delegate programs to ensure compliance; develop and/or update nutrition component plan and procedure manual; conduct nutrition training for parents, cooking staff and other staff as needed. Perform other duties as required
Requirements: Must hold Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics with at least three (3) years work experience in institutional food management; must hold Registered and Licensed Dietitian (RD/LD) designation issued by Ohio Board of Dietetics (State of Ohio) and American Dietetic Association; ServSafe Certification a plus; Summit County residency.
